As if we don’t have enough “No win – No fee” law firms chasing accident victims, fresh baying packs now eagerly pursue us for a substantial chunk of any excessive bank charges that may be returned. But we are re-assured by the bottom line of the small print in their adverts:

Surely, this cannot be the same Ministry of Justice who sat back while two law firms skimmed 100 million pounds from the compensation fund set up for the wives and widows of dying and deceased coal miners. Not only should every penny be paid back, but these vultures should spend the rest of their days digging coal with their bare hands. Maybe Gordon will do something about it….. but no-one’s holding their breath.

Well I thought I’d just have a peep at their website and give the Ministry of Justice the opportunity to impress the living daylights out of me. From a grand total of 48 categories on their “What we do” page, the Claims Management Regulation subheading caught my eye. Looks like the end of the line for unscrupulous law firms now that the Ministry of Justice “safeguards consumers by improving the operating standards of those providing services relating to claims for compensation”
